3 Transition Area Time Saving Tips
Not to waste extra time on getting changed and changing the equipment we´ll reveal three secrets that will help you outperform rivals in the "fourth" triathlon discipline.
Make your place noticable
After the swimming stage sportsmen often can´t find their bicycles fast in long rows of similar bikes. That is why you should think well in advance how you can mark your place. A bottle of a brightly coloured helmet would be a good orientation cue in the transition area and save your time on checking if that is your bike or not.
Study movement scheme in the transition area
Make sure you understand which exit to go to after each stage of the competition because in a hurry you might confuse directions and lose precious seconds or even minutes. If you are not sure where to go – ask volunteers who are in charge of transition area to help you. Make sure you are not mounting your bike before the distinctly marked line.
Train exiting transition area
Before you start riding from the marked line you must get there on foot.  To reduce time spent on this competitors move running that is why you must train in advance to run aside your bicycle. Professionals hold their bikes with one hand so that they could start pedaling right after the line. Try hopping on your bike on the go before the competition – if you decide to repeat this trick after more skilled triathletes first time on the race you risk to get injured or damage your bike.
